Istvan is acknowledged worldwide as the expert in long term athlete development and the periodization of training plans.
He is currently employed as a World Class Advisor for Sport England, helping to re-develop their long-term high performance programs. Retaining his long-term role [since '94] as Resident Sport Scientist at the National Coaching Institute(NCI-BC,) Victoria, Canada, Istvan is currently writing a series about long-term athlete development and periodization, to be published in Canada, Australia, the UK and the USA.
He also retains his role as a high performance advisor for the Canadian Sport Centers in Victoria and Vancouver. We expect to see more of him in Vancouver as the 2010 Olympics approach. |
